Late evening, looking out across a frozen lake in Trakai, Lithuania. The mist was gradually rolling in and this was the sight that greeted me as dusk was occurring. Three auto-bracketed exposures captured using a Canon EOS 500D equipped with the kit Canon EF-S 18-55 mm lens. Exposures were tonemapped using Photomatix and the resulting image was processed using Adobe Lightroom and GIMP.

I originally uploaded a shot of the "Gerard De Duivelsteen" (a castle in Ghent) that didn't include the full reflection (here), due to not having a wide enough angle lens. Luckily I captured a few shots with a view to stitching them together to give the full view. After an eight month wait here is the finished product. Three HDR images each comprising of three exposures (nine images total) were processed using Photomatix. The resulting three HDR images were stitched together using Hugin, with final touch up being performed in Adobe Lightroom.

Dusk over the city skyline of Warsaw. This is looking towards the modern district where new skyscrapers are being built. You can also see the top of the 237 metre Palace of Culture and Science, the tallest building in Poland. The view looking the other way can be found here. This shot was taken from the nearby bell tower of St. Anne's Church using my trusty EOS 500D and 18-55 mm kit lens. A three exposure HDR image processed using Photomatix and Adobe Lightroom.

A highland cow seen not too far from Curbar Edge in the Peak District. I walked past this guy in fading light, he seemed very inquisitive and came within a metre before wandering off. A three exposure HDR image processed using Photomatix and Adobe Lightroom.

On the approach to Helsinki harbour I spotted this little red tugboat. It's somewhat amazing that some of the ice fragments are not that dissimilar in size to the boat itself! Another shot from the same area is here.
The Finance Tower (Tour des Finances, Financietoren) is a skyscraper in the Northern Quarter central business district of Brussels, Belgium, designed by the architects Hugo Van Kuyck, Marcel Lambrichs and Léon Stynen. It is the second tallest building in Belgium, and has the most office space of any building in Belgium. A single shot taken with a Canon EOS 500D and kit 18-55mm lens, processed using Adobe Lightroom.
I've decided to join the masses and create a "Photoblog", the only name left that was vaguely similar to this was "Pixog". I enjoy taking pictures, but only ever view my efforts as amateurish, so I've decided to share some of my favourites with the world and see what you think!
Currently I'm using a Canon EOS 500D and a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ10. In the past I've used a Samsung Digimax A6 (my first ever camera) and a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3. Software used for editing includes Photomatix Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, GIMP and Hugin.
