Here's my second sporting shot, this is Rafael Nadal competing at Wimbledon this year. [Taken: 24th June 2008]
Another 'wildlife' shot. This is a hedgehog I spotted in my backgarden. [Taken: 12th July 2008]
This is a courtyard in Vienna, not too far from the Spanish Horse Riding School. [Taken: 9th June 2007]
Same building, alternative view. This is St. Pauls Cathedral as viewed from the front. [Taken: 23rd June 2008]
This is the famous dome of St. Pauls Cathedral in London. [Taken: 23rd June 2008]
The houses of Parliment in London, along with Big Ben and some traditional black hackney cabs! [Taken: 23rd June 2008]
A view of Buckingham Palace, the flag flying indicating that the Queen is there. [Taken: 23rd June 2008]
This is Big Ben, the famous clock tower at the houses of parliment in London. [Taken: 23rd June 2008]
So I haven't posted a photo in a very long time, this has been due to having no internet. However I'm back with some more photos, I'll probably be posting a little less frequently as well. Here's one to begin with, it's what can be found at the end of The Mall, at the opposite end to Buckingham Palace. [Taken: 23rd June 2008]
This is the Portland Building, found on the campus of Nottingham University. [Taken: 19th June 2008]
Arguably the oldest pub in England. The Old Trip is built into the side of the castle walls, utilising caves as rooms in the pub. [Taken: 18th June 2008]
A character recognised around the world, Robin Hood. This statue can be found just in front of Nottingham Castle. [Taken: 18th June 2008]
The view along one of the sides of Nottingham Castle. [Taken: 18th June 2008]
This is the market square in Nottingham where the town hall can be found. Recently refurbished, this project has won an award for the efforts made. [Taken: 18th June 2008]
My second 'wildlife' photo. These are the rather tame deers that can be found aimlessly wandering in Wollaton Park. [Taken: 13th June 2008]
This is a Wollaton Hall, a large stately home situated on the outskirts of Nottingham. The hall is surrounded by a vast park and is a perfect example of traditional English stately homes. [Taken: 13th June 2008]
So I lied! Here's one final photo from the capital of culture. This is the view of the main city skyline taken from a ferry on the Mersey. You can also see the visiting Ark Royal moored up close to the Liver Building. [Taken: 8th June 2008]
The final photo in my 'Liverpool Week' series, this being the town hall in Liverpool. [Taken: 8th June 2008]
Another from Albert Docks, this being the famous 'duck boat'. An old WW2 amphibious vehicle that gives tours of Liverpool on both land and water. [Taken: 8th June 2008]
Anyone who has watched daytime TV in the UK will quite possibly recognise this area. This is the Albert Docks, the backdrop to 'This Morning' for many years. [Taken: 8th June 2008]
I'm not too sure what this building is, however it looks quite impressive. [Taken: 7th June 2008]
These are the bells of the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral. At 31 tonnes and 66 metres high, these are the heaviest and highest peal of bells in the world. [Taken: 7th June 2008]
This is the view from the top of the Anglican Cathedral, looking towards the Mersey and the main centre of Liverpool. [Taken: 7th June 2008]
This weekend I traveled to Liverpool (2008 European capital of culture), and took far too many pictures! Therefore, as a 'treat', I'll be having a 'Liverpool Week'. This first photo is of the gateway to Liverpool's China town, reputedly the oldest in the world. [Taken: 7th June 2008]
This is the impressive Lincoln Cathedral. Originally it had a wooden spire on top of the stone towers, making it the tallest building in the world for over 200 years. It is still very impressive today and many hundreds of thousands of pounds are required to prevent it from falling into disrepair. [Taken: 15th April 2006]
This is the famous Major Oak, found in Sherwood Forest near Nottingham. Famed for its age and size plus its ties with the folklore of Robin Hood, this tree attracts up to 600,000 visitors a year. [Taken: 30th May 2008]
This is a church I saw randomly whilst wandering around Berlin. I've cropped the image mainly because there was a large amount of building work going on in the foreground, which is a shame since it spoilt the overall view. [Taken: 7th June 2007]
The famous London Eye, I've yet to actually ride this wheel, maybe when I do I can provide you with some amazing skyline shots of the English capital. [Taken: 11th March 2006]
Another from Prague, this time showing a different view of some of the buildings a long the bank of the River Vltava. [Taken: 4th June 2007]
A rather grey looking view of some of the many small islands that make up Venice. [Taken: 12th June 2007]
Another interesting photo from Vienna. I'm not too sure what this building is used for, but it is still very impressive. [Taken: 9th June 2007]
I've posted this photo mainly because I am amazed at how well it turned out. This is Les Invalides in Paris as viewed from the top of the Eiffel Tower. Considering how far away the building was and how rubbish my camera was (only 3x optical zoom, plus 4x digital) this image has come out very nicely. [Taken: 20th June 2007]
This the Arno River in Pisa, Italy. Unfortunately I have no 'good' pictures of the famous leaning tower, so this will remain as quite possibly my only photo from Pisa. [Taken: 13th June 2007]
More Gondolas from Venice with the small Venetian island of San Giorgio Maggiore in the background. [Taken: 12th June 2007]
This is the view of one of the many beautiful buildings in Vienna, as seen from a rose garden (which incidentally had virtually every type of rose you could imagine in it). [Taken: 9th June 2007]
A view of one of the many canals in Amsterdam at dusk. [Taken: 4th June 2007]
This is the view of La Défense, the financial centre in Paris. The photo was taken from the top of the Arc de Triomphe, also you can see the Grande Arche in the middle. [Taken: 19th April 2006]
A view of the Deutsche-Bank towers in Frankfurt am Main. This was the first city I ever visited that had many high rise buildings, and I was in awe for the whole time that I was there. [Taken: 10th March 2007]
Another photo from Bratislava, this time a building in the old town square (taken: 10th June 2006).
Well here is my first "wildlife" photo. There really wasn't any intention of taking any arty shots (as you can see), I just thought the donkeys looked slightly funny! Maybe if I make this picture back and white then it might look professional (taken: 4th July 2006).
Yet another photo from Greenmount. This one shows a local farm house that was construct to look a bit like a castle (taken: 23rd March 2008)!
This is a "traditional" shot from Venice, showing the famous gondolas on one of the many canals (taken: 12th June 2007).
Here's the view of the castle in Prague with the river Vltava running along the front. I liked Prague, but felt that it's been spoilt somewhat over recent years by tourists (taken: 9th June 2007).
As a contrast to the last post, here is the Palais Garnier as seen at night (taken: 18th April 2006).
This building is the Palais Garnier in Paris and is home to the national Opera in France (taken: 19th April 2006).
This is a crazy fountain I saw in Vienna, Austria. Vienna is quite possibly the cleanest city I've ever visited, with some truly amazing architecture (taken: 9th June 2007).
This is my third photo from Rhodes and shows the view of the town of Lindos from near it's acropolis. Lindos is great little town, a very traditional Greek town that has opened its doors to respectful tourists (taken: 4th July 2006).
The second photo from the small village of Greenmount. This one shows the local hill, Holcombe Hill, with Peel Tower monument on top (taken: 23rd March 2008).
This is the view from the top of the Eiffel Tower looking towards La Défense, the financial district of Paris. In the foreground you can also see the Trocadéro, there will be more photos from Paris to come at a later date (taken: 19th April 2006).
The sun setting over the white cliffs of Dover. There is something very welcoming about coming to England on a ferry and being able to see the white cliffs (taken: 20th June 2007).
