Nottingham V

Arguably the oldest pub in England. The Old Trip is built into the side of the castle walls, utilising caves as rooms in the pub. [Taken: 18th June 2008]

A character recognised around the world, Robin Hood. This statue can be found just in front of Nottingham Castle. [Taken: 18th June 2008]

This is the market square in Nottingham where the town hall can be found. Recently refurbished, this project has won an award for the efforts made. [Taken: 18th June 2008]

Wollaton II

My second 'wildlife' photo. These are the rather tame deers that can be found aimlessly wandering in Wollaton Park. [Taken: 13th June 2008]

Wollaton I

This is a Wollaton Hall, a large stately home situated on the outskirts of Nottingham. The hall is surrounded by a vast park and is a perfect example of traditional English stately homes. [Taken: 13th June 2008]

So I lied! Here's one final photo from the capital of culture. This is the view of the main city skyline taken from a ferry on the Mersey. You can also see the visiting Ark Royal moored up close to the Liver Building. [Taken: 8th June 2008]

Another from Albert Docks, this being the famous 'duck boat'. An old WW2 amphibious vehicle that gives tours of Liverpool on both land and water. [Taken: 8th June 2008]

Liverpool III

These are the bells of the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral. At 31 tonnes and 66 metres high, these are the heaviest and highest peal of bells in the world. [Taken: 7th June 2008]

Liverpool I

This weekend I traveled to Liverpool (2008 European capital of culture), and took far too many pictures! Therefore, as a 'treat', I'll be having a 'Liverpool Week'. This first photo is of the gateway to Liverpool's China town, reputedly the oldest in the world. [Taken: 7th June 2008]

Lincoln I

This is the impressive Lincoln Cathedral. Originally it had a wooden spire on top of the stone towers, making it the tallest building in the world for over 200 years. It is still very impressive today and many hundreds of thousands of pounds are required to prevent it from falling into disrepair. [Taken: 15th April 2006]

Nottingham I

This is the famous Major Oak, found in Sherwood Forest near Nottingham. Famed for its age and size plus its ties with the folklore of Robin Hood, this tree attracts up to 600,000 visitors a year. [Taken: 30th May 2008]

Berlin III

This is a church I saw randomly whilst wandering around Berlin. I've cropped the image mainly because there was a large amount of building work going on in the foreground, which is a shame since it spoilt the overall view. [Taken: 7th June 2007]

London III

The famous London Eye, I've yet to actually ride this wheel, maybe when I do I can provide you with some amazing skyline shots of the English capital. [Taken: 11th March 2006]

Vienna III

Another interesting photo from Vienna. I'm not too sure what this building is used for, but it is still very impressive. [Taken: 9th June 2007]

Paris V

I've posted this photo mainly because I am amazed at how well it turned out. This is Les Invalides in Paris as viewed from the top of the Eiffel Tower. Considering how far away the building was and how rubbish my camera was (only 3x optical zoom, plus 4x digital) this image has come out very nicely. [Taken: 20th June 2007]
